Seeking information about the canyons along Koksilah river between the guide camp and the end of Hillbank Road.

Roland Brown has worked for many years removing car-parts and rusted metal from the Koksilah coming from the canyon area where car skeletons in the River are slowly disintegrating. The CCLT and the community removed some of these car parts but there is still a lot of metal coming down the river.

Roland would like to know if anyone knows where these car skeletons are in the canyons so he can get a better idea of how many there are and whether they can be removed.

Please pass this on to anyone you think might be familiar with this area.  If you have information please call the office at 746-0227

Thanks

CCLT

Tour Merve Wilkinson's Wildwood

Join the public Guided Tour of Wildwood June 1st – Sept 30th: Wildwood open for 1:30 tours Sat & Sun. Workshops are being offered to enhance peoples appreciation of and experiences in forests. Current workshop topics include mushroom identification and propagation, bird identification and appreciation, sketching, basketry, photography, wreath making and an introduction to Ecoforestry. Tours and workshops are also available for schools and other groups.

TLC became interested in protecting Wildwood as a working forest and developing it as a learning site, because it is a key property which illustrates the significance of what Merve has done to foster the development of sustainable land use ethic. We will continue to steward the forest in the best way that we know and with a focus on providing educational opportunities. Financially this is a challenge, because the site is now valuable residential land, but we felt 60 years of practice holds great significance and we have been very well supported in this view.

My thanks for your interest, encouragement and support.

The Land Conservancy offers workshops throughout the year.
