The Channel Islands (Iles Anglo-Normandes) are off the coast of Normandy but belong to the UK. They include the larger islands of Guernsey & Jersey, and three small ones: Alderney, Sark, and Herm..

Includes Channel Islands Mailing List, Channel Islands Surname Interests List, Volunteers/Lookups and an Index to 1849 Map of Jersey. There are also many links to other sites which may be of interest. There is, for example, info about The Priaulx Library. Note that not all French surnames to be found in Channel Islands research are Huguenot in origin.

~ http://user.itl.net/~glen/sark.html This is the website for the small island of Sark which is just west of the larger island of Guernsey. Includes historical background about the settlement of the island but most of the French surnames mentioned are not Huguenot, in spite of the fact that was a community of Huguenots there. However, there is information about surnames BREVINT, DU PUITS and QUESLE.
