HWE Surnames List:

Entries in the HWE Surnames List have been submitted by subscribers to the HWE mailing list. However, the Surnames List is accessible for searches by anyone, whether they are a subscriber or not. It includes locations and time periods being researched, as well as e-mail addresses so you can contact individual researchers for details. Some researchers may be seeking information, while others may have data to share with you.

~ Please note: The inclusion of any surname on the Surnames List does not prove that this surname will have Huguenot and/or Walloon origins in your own family or elsewhere. It simply means that specific individuals with this name are being researched by a subscriber. Sometimes, the Huguenot origins will have been proven by that researcher. For other surnames, however, there may be no Huguenot connection or none has been proven so far. To verify Huguenot/Walloon ancestry in your own family, you must prove your own generational connection through personal research.
