Sensitive Ecosystems Stewardship Project 2000-2001

The Sensitive Ecosystem Stewardship project was funded by Habitat Conservation Trust Fund, the Vancouver Foundation, BC E-Team and EcoAction 2000 and used the information gathered through the Sensitive Ecosystem Inventory to contact landholders with sensitive ecosystems within the Cowichan Valley. This project included a landholder contact and a community education program focused on the importance of protecting ecologically sensitive sites on private land. Through site visits, a series of workshops, presentations and community outreach, community stewardship groups were formed and supported through this project.
