Land Stewardship is the philosophy of using land in ways that protect natural values and biodiversity and support the wider ecosystem of which the land is a part. Many people love the land they own and see themselves as caring for it and "improving" it, but many human activities and improvements can threaten wild animals and plants that inhabited the land before people came.
- It is the voluntary conservation of natural resources, wildlife and fish habitat by landholders and concerned citizens.

- It is the act of taking responsibility for the well-being of the environment and doing something to restore or protect that well-being.

- It is an educational process for land owners.
