CFE is prepared to offer a variety specialized forest management services. We strive to deliver consistent, quality work in the following areas:

·     Planning and field layout for timber harvesting: CFE can provide field layout and associated mapping for both helicopter and conventional logging operations. Our staff has experience laying out openings that include single tree selection, variable and clump retention, and larger areas. We can tailor any combination of these scenarios to meet management requirements.

·      GPS land surveys: CFE uses a TRIMBLE 2000 to produce some of the most accurate surveys and maps of forest lands available today.

·      GIS based cartography: CFE will analyze and produce data sets and maps for a variety of forest management aspects.

·      Specialized blasting: Using explosives as a road deactivation tool, we can can remove culverts and obstructions on roads that have become inaccessible to machines, and minimize environmental degradation by dispersing head-scarps on slide tracks.

·      Wildlife and danger tree assessment: The staff at CFE are accredited by the province of BC to perform this service.

·      Cedar salvage layout: CFE has developed a cost effective method for field marking riparian reserves and block boundaries suitable for salvage operations.

·      Planning for forested lands: We are at the disposal of anyone seeking guidance or advice on how to achieving management goals on forested lands. Our expertise includes management for timber, wildlife and recreational values.

Where will we go?

While CFE is primarily based in Ucluelet, we have worked extensively in the area surrounding Port Hardy and along the midcoast of BC. We will drive, fly, or sail in our 40 foot converted fishing boat to where-ever an interesting work opportunity takes us.
