Lemmens Inlet Excursion

This 2½ hour tour brings you into a prestine inlet at Meares Island. Meares was designated an Aboriginal Park by the Nuu-Chah-Nulth 1st Nations in 1988 and has on it the oldest continually habitated settlement (Opitsaht) in N.W. America (approximatly 10,000 years and still going strong). Cruising in the inlet, we enter enchanting Adventure Cove, you will learn of Fort Defiance built there by Capt. John Gray in 1791 and how his actions here affected the American claim for the Oregon Territory.

This trip offers incredible scenery and is located on a major bird migratory route, allowing for excellent bird watching! Often a number of Bald Eagles and Great Blue Herons can be seen prowling the tidal flats for food. Bears, Seals, Cougars, wolves, and Dolphins also call this intriguing inlet home.

A great place to investigate, especially during rougher weather.
