Meet Your Hosts

Our children are grown up with homes and families of their own, but we have a border collie named Nessie, and three horses named Kelsey Bay, Sparky, and Crystal. We share our farm with a flock of chickens, a pair of wild ducks, rabbits, some deer and other assorted woodland creatures, and, of course, our visitors.

Jim loves the local history and has lots of books about the early days of Nanaimo and Ladysmith, and the characters who lived here.

Anne loves cooking, the arts, weaving, sewing, and is learning to play classical guitar.

We both keep fit and ride horses. Fiddick's Farm, besides being a Bed & Breakfast, is a small working farm with a market garden.

Having lived in Gold River for many years, our shelves are also filled with history books about Nootka Sound - where Captain Cook landed - and First Nations lore.

Whether you are a sea kayaker, hiker, family, crafty person, musician, bird-watcher - or just looking for a place to lay your tired head - then we hope you will visit us and check out what Cedar-by-the-Sea has to offer. There are even a few bicycles to borrow if you want to cycle around to see the sights.

If you need help planning your visit, please just call or email!
