Welch Wildlife Imagery
Joanne (Jody) Welch was born in Calgary and raised on a ranch bordering Alberta's Kananaskis
Country. Joanne has had an appreciation for wildlife for as long as she can remember. Upon
graduating from high school, Joanne worked to develop this appreciation for wildlife by
completing a diploma in Wildlife and Fisheries Technology from Lakeland College. This has
allowed Joanne to work for the Calgary Zoo, the Alberta Habitat, and Fish and Wildlife
Divisions and the Federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans. Joanne's passion, however, has
always been her art. Accordingly, she went on to complete a four year Fine Arts program at the
Alberta College of Art, graduating with a diploma from the Drawing Department.
Joanne
has had her work exhibited at the Alberta College of Art as well as at Corporate exhibitions for
Petro-Canada, NOVA Corporation and Inter provincial Steel and Pipe, Inc.
Joanne now
resides in Sointula
, B.C. where she hopes to dedicate all her time to her artwork and enjoy the
wilderness of the area.
