British Columbia Institute of Technology (PVI), Apprenticeship in Bench work and joinery, 1976 –1980.

 

University of Victoria, Bachelor of Arts (with distinction)

Major: History in Art, Co-op Accreditation, 1987-1993.

 

Emphasis:  Studies in architectural interiors and furniture design, museum and heritage studies, cultural policy.

 

University of California, Berkeley, Art history and architecture courses, 1991-1992.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

 

Employed as an instructor in the Fine Furniture Program at Camosun College since September 2000.  Teaching responsibilities include joinery techniques, design, furniture history, business and CAD.

 

Employed as a sessional instructor in the Department of Curriculum Instruction, Faculty of Education, University of Victoria 2007 - 08.  Courses include Sculpture in the Studio Environment and Applied Design.

 

Served as guest instructor for the Fine Furniture Program at Camosun College for one month in each of 1998, 1999 and 2000. 

 

Since 1982 I have designed curriculum and delivered the following courses and workshops covering various aspects of woodworking and design.

·        Intermediate Cabinet Making  (30 hour’s skills development).
