One of the two original ships that entered service in June 1960, the Queen of Tsawwassen. The other ship was the Queen of Sidney. The  two ships were originally named without the word Queen of in their title, the name change came about when the then General Manager Monty Aldus (1960 - 1974) was asked by Premier Bennett if he had any suggestion for the upcoming ships names. Monty Aldus pointed out that the CP called their vessels Princess and ours are much better than theirs so why don’t we call them Queens. Premier Bennett appears to have liked that suggestion.
