The 2003 Trident Sea to Sky National Canadian Windsurfing Championships set for July 24-26

Windsurfing Canada is pleased to confirm that Declan Sacre of Trident Performance Boards will host the 2003 "Canadians" at Squamish, BC. Competition will commence Thursday July 24 through Saturday July 26 with Sunday July 27 as an extra day.

Declan announced that this will be a Pro-Am event with up to $100,000 Cdn. in prize money and gear. Course racing (Formula) and slalom for all ages and skill levels will take place at the spectacular Squamish jetty in Howe Sound. Plans are underway to provide charter gear especially for the FE (Formula Experience) junior, youth and novice fleets, and three introductory and coaching events are planned in the Vancouver area prior to the main event.

Long the site of Canada's most advanced slalom and Formula-type competition, Squamish will provide the setting for the 2003 "Canadians" which will attract top professional and amateur sailors from BC and the Columbia River Gorge, and from across Canada. The City of Squamish is noted for its hospitality and social life, and is located one hour north of Vancouver on Highway 99, one of the most rugged and beautiful routes in the world.

PS: BC event organizers are a closely-knit group, and their mates on Vancouver Island extend an invitation to sailors to stretch their windsurfing visit to the Coast, by attending the classic WIRED event at Nitinat Lake, August 2-4. This laid-back wilderness regatta featuring camping amid huge driftwood is an adventure you won't soon forget.

Windsurfing Canada is also pleased to confirm that LA COUPE DES ILES organizer Marc Boucher will host the "Eastern Canadian Windsurfing Championships" on the Magdalen Islands from August 25 to August 30, 2003 It will be followed by the 2nd annual PWA Freestyle Grand Prix, attended by some of the world's top aerial artists -- bring your cameras for this one.
