Mona Ferguson reminded us that there is no longer cycling on the Wed. evenings as it is getting too dark.

Indoor Games Alan Critchley announced that Donna and Rick Tutak are resigning from the running of the games afternoon at the end of Dec. so we will need a replacement for them for the months of Jan. Feb. Mar. and April. 2009 and/or a new coordinator for all of 2009.

Peter Kucey reminded PGOSAns that memberships are due. We have 1188 members and we now have 231 over 80 members who do not pay dues, which leaves 957 paid up members.

We need to encourage all members to participate as peter has done a review and there are about 1/3 of the members participating in at least one social or sport activity. Richard Young pointed out that one way t get people involved is to look at the membership list and see if someone lives in your neighbourhood and invite them out. Verne Huntley feels we are doing our best as we have had a very successful “Meet and Greet”for the newcomers for the past 2 years so if they want to pay the $10 to belong but don’t participate we don’t need to worry about them.

Verne Huntley asked for an update on the curling. Arleigh Cates reported that we have a full slate of teams and we have lots of room for spares. Stephen Kormilo reminded everyone that the first bonspiel is Nov. 15th cost is $12 for entry and $8 for lunch.

Gil Roy reported that he and Jack Verspagen have taken on the Variety Show so that if anyone has talent to bring to let them know.

Peter Kucey asked that members present who know the 90 plus members who attended the luncheon take one of the pictures of the group to them. Several members volunteered.

The Monday volleyball is at Oceanside Middle School. This is a conflict with the badminton but there is good attendance so the extra night is warranted. Pickle ball is Friday evenings.
