SAVE LIVES THROUGH DONATIONS

YOU CAN HELP THE ANIMALS IN SEVERAL WAYS

  • CANNED PET FOOD: We are currently in great need of canned dog and cat food as well as high quality canned kitten and puppy food.

  • BOOKS: Yes, yet another fabulous book sale is approaching so now is the time to do your spring cleaning!! We're after good quality books, preferably current fiction, as well as cds, videos, and dvds. Please, no text books, encyclopedias, or sets.

  • KNICK-KNACKS etc: We are currently requesting small collectibles, knick-knacks, glassware, quality china, and stuffed animals--all in good condition--for our November sale!

  • PLANNED GIVING: If you would like to find out how you can help the animals through a thoughtfully planned gift, please call Christa at 248-3811 or pick up a brochure at the shelter or at the SPCA pamphlet rack at Wembley Mall. Planned giving can be gifts by will, life insurance, trusts, securities, or a charitable gift annuity. We will work with your professional advisor to help you find a way to make a gift that best suits your personal situation and goals.

  • OUR WISHLIST: Check here to find out about specific items that we currently need!

  • Q-FOODS: We use the points to raise money. Without them we would probably have to cut back on our programs! This is probably the single most useful community resource for the animals. Points can be donated to the SPCA. SPCA Q-Foods cards are available at the shelter and at the Wembly Mall adoption board. The number is #1003382243

  • Click here to find out how to donate your HBC POINTS to any of the Vancouver Island SPCA shelters!! Cards with the SPCA number are at the Wembly Mall adoption board and at the shelter.

  • CANADIAN TIRE MONEY: We use this for shelter supplies and prizes.

  • YOUR EMPTIES: You can return your empty drink containers (bottles, tetrapaks, cans) to the Bottle Depot beside Buckerfield's and donate the $$ to the SPCA!

  • PET FOOD: We need this all year long! We like to use the premium brands such as Nutro, Royal Canin, and Techni-cal to prevent digestive upsets from sudden food changes, so we feed the animals the same premium brands because they offer more support to immune systems. This is important when animals are under stress as they are in the shelter.

  • FLEA MARKETS & CRAFT SALES: Your generous donations of small collectable items help us raise funds during annual seasonal events.

  • CASH DONATIONS: And of course, we are always in need of money so we can continue to offer our many programs and care for the homeless animals that come through our door. We now have P.A.W., a pre-authorized withdrawal program for people who wish to make a monthly contribution--contact us at the shelter for details.
