And currently it's $35 for DOGS 40 lbs & over. Pitbulls are still no charge.

Eligible applicants must be on low income and residents of Oceanside (including Lasqueti Island). When applying please bring picture ID with current address, and proof of income (or income assistance) to the SPCA shelter at 1565 Alberni Hwy (next to QF CaseCo warehouse).

Spay/Neuter Program:

We offer a year-round spay/neuter assistance program for cats and large dogs (40 lbs and up). This program is for low income residents of District 69 and is intended to encourage people who are unable to pay the full amount of these surgeries to have their pets spayed and neutered, thus lowering the number of animals that must be euthanized. This program has been very successful and, to date, we have assisted in hundreds of spays and neuters!

Feral Cat Program

If you are feeding feral (wild) cats or know anyone who is we will neuter them at no cost, or by donation, providing you will commit to their lifetime care. If you would like more information please call the shelter. We also have a package of information, which will let you know what is involved, as well as a video for loan, which describes the benefits of neutering feral cats.

Pitbulls Neutered for Free!

We will continue to neuter/spay Pitbulls all year long for free for residents of District 69 living on low income.
