THE RECORD November 19, 1997 THE RECORD November 19, 1997 BACK TO THE EGG Suzanne Trevis This week I taught myself, with much assistance from the "Wizard", how to construct and post my own web page on the Internet. It's not much. I just don't have as much time as I would like. But the ideas now are endless. And it's There. Now I really feel a part of cyberspace. I am lucky in that I pick things up quickly. So, while I don't get as much time to flit around the galaxy as I might like, I feel pretty much at home when I get there. For anyone who's never had the opportunity it's impossible to imagine the sheer magnitude of what is available. If you thought TV covered every aspect of life as we know it, think again. I am one of those people who like to think the world should revolve around me. It really bugs me when I'm working at 5am and I need to find out something, but hey, the rest of the world doesn't start work until 8 or 9. As a self employed person Stat Holidays generally have no meaning and it's irritating that I can't get on with my regular work day because everyone else is closed. I think of odd things at odd times of the day and night and have no one to discuss them with. My husband doesn't always appreciate my sense of humour. And I love to learn new things. For me cyberspace is a doorway to freedom. Don't get me wrong. With four kids, a business and a part time job I spend a very great deal of my time plunked in reality. But it's there. Whatever I want. Whenever I want it. It could very easily become an addiction. Now about the web page. I have to be honest. I would probably still be sitting here thinking about it six months from now if my Little Brother hadn't gone off and done one first. And of course the first thing he has to do is play a practical joke on me. I can laugh at myself, I thought it was hilarious! Some of you may remember him, he hasn't changed at all (read "never grew up"). I am linked to his page if you want to check it out, mine as I said is rather brief right now. I'm easy to find at strevis@island.net. Sometime soon I hope to have old Eggs here (yuck!) anything else will probably have to wait until the New Year. In the mean time if you have any comments I'd love to hear from you. Copyright © 1997, West's International Copyright © 1997, West's International
