Rob believes that buildings which look and feel best express a multiplicity of creative input in their design process rather than the domain of a single individual. The designer's job is to facilitate a step by step, creative dialogue encouraging input and feed back from not just owners and builders but also tradesmen and if possible users of the building. In this way the design takes on a life of its own which helps generate character in the building as it evolves and grows. This is what Rob likes to call organic architecture.
