story behind Fish 'N' Stitches...
Before starting Fish 'N' Stitches, we had been fishing for many years (27 to be exact) all over the BC Coast before we felt it was wearing us out a little. Michael was very intrigued with computers and their relationship with manufacturing, and France had always wished for a store or shop. After seeing an embroidery machine working in a kiosk, we were hooked!
In 1992 we purchased our first machine, a Melco Emc6mtl 1 head, digitizing software and board...and started perfecting the art. At first we were in a small mall setting selling giftware, corporate wear, fish art and collectables. After that, we moved to an industrial setting to do mostly corporate and private wear, as well as stocking lots of apparel, caps and everything else you can embroider. We now have Tajima machines and 2 station digitizing, Melco and Wilcom software. We also do custom digitizing for other embroiderers as well as offer lots of free advice to them whenever they need it.
We are still fishing commercially for salmon in the Queen Charlotte Islands...hence the name "Fish 'N' Stitches" ...and yes! we also sell Fish!
