Building the Cockpit

Trial fitting the various bits of the cockpit before putting them all together to make sure there is a good fit between the beams.

Assembling all the pieces. Note the "hooks" that go over the beams to support the cockpit and the narrow console for the wheel steering. Deck boxes on either side are sized for propane tanks and fuel tank.

Painting with linear polyurethane after sheathing everything except the inside of the deck boxes.

I painted the bottom of the cockpit yellow as a safety measure. You can just see the sheaves for the steering cables in the centre.
